 Tampa Chapter #36

Membership Committee Report

Submitted by Debra Palmer, CDT, CIT
Tampa Chapter Membership Chair

We are having a great 2010 so far and I want to congratulate us all on everything we've been doing to bring guests to our events, share information about NAWIC and the Chapter, and for recruiting members.  Check out our progress below on our "Building Bridges – Linking the Past, Present and Future" membership contest.  We're over 60% complete so let's keep up the great work and get this project completed ahead of schedule.  The liquidated damages for this contract are plenty and so is the early completion bonus – a stronger Tampa Chapter.

We have 3 new members since my last report.  Please introduce yourselves to them at the next NAWIC event and welcome them to our group.

·         Cathi Chamberlain – Cathi-The-Contractor

·         Julie Kenyon – SimplexGrinnell

·         Linda Cox – Cox Fire Protection

You've already seen and heard about our Formal Networking Event to kickoff Women in Construction (WIC) week in March.  Now is the time to promote this event and get people signed up to participate.  This will be an excellent opportunity for you and the other participants to meet other construction industry professionals one on one, build relationships for business and other networking opportunities, and sharpen your networking skills.  The event will be held on March 8th at 6:00 p.m. at the Tampa Airport Hilton Westshore (our regular dinner meeting location) and will be limited to 49 participants.  Advance registration is required, so signup today at www.NAWICTampa.org.

If you have any prospective member contacts we can add to our email database, be sure and send me the information (Membership@NAWICTampa.org).  Don't keep NAWIC a secret.  Spread the news.  There are women out there right now that need to be a part of our group so let's get in the loop.
