The Gaylene Plodzien Scholarship is named after a past chapter president who is no longer with us. She was a professional individual
who strongly supported the chapter scholarship fund. Gaylene believed that educating our youth was important for all of our futures.
She felt it was very critical for our young people. Gaylene supported any activity that provided financial and emotional support for
young people and was a great advocate of the area children’s homes. She was very giving and caring woman. Anything Gaylene
supported was sincere and from her heart. To honor and remember such a special member the Tampa NAWIC chapter renamed the
scholarship after Gaylene’s passing in 1994.
